GCRF Global Multimorbidity – Seed-funding 2019
Multimorbidity is recognized as a significant and rapidly increasing health, economic
and societal problem in low– middle- and high-income settings. A collective and
coordinated effort is required to deliver a step-change in the prevention, measurement,
management and treatment of multimorbidity through research.
As part of a framework of activities the Academy of Medical Science (AMS), the
National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), the Medical Research Council (MRC,
part of UK Research and Innovations) and Wellcome, together with other charities, seek
to enable impactful research, build best practice, and provide the evidence needed to
tackle the scale of this problem.
